1. Who we are
LucidInbox (the “Service”) is operated by Innovative Commerce B.V.(“LucidInbox”, “we”, “us” or “our”), a private limited company incorporated in the Netherlands with its registered office at Westplein 12, 3016 BM Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
You can reach us at any time at hello@lucidinbox.com. By creating an account, connecting a mailbox, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. The Service
LucidInbox is an AI assistant that connects to your email account and automatically organises incoming mail — moving newsletters, notifications, receipts and other low-priority messages into folders so that your Inbox keeps only what matters. The Service:
- Connects to your mailbox using the secure authorisation (“OAuth”) provided by your email provider (Microsoft Outlook at launch; additional providers may be added over time);
- Reads only the limited message data needed to classify a message — the sender, the subject line, and a short snippet of the body — as further described in our Privacy Policy;
- Applies presets and the plain-language rules you configure, and moves messages between folders accordingly;
- May send you product communications such as a periodic digest of what was organised.
We continually improve the Service and may add, change or remove features. We will not make changes that materially reduce the core functionality of a paid plan during a billing period you have already paid for, except where required for legal, security or technical reasons.
3. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms, in which case “you” refers to that organisation.
We use passwordless “magic link” sign-in. You are responsible for keeping access to the email address linked to your account secure, and for all activity that takes place under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. Please tell us promptly at hello@lucidinbox.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
4. Free trial
New users may be offered a free trial (currently 14 days, no payment details required). At the end of the trial a paid subscription is required to continue using the Service. If you do not subscribe, the Service will stop organising your mail and your account data will be deleted in accordance with the retention periods set out in our Privacy Policy. Disconnecting LucidInbox never changes or deletes the email already in your mailbox.
We may change or withdraw trial offers at any time, and limit trials to one per person or organisation.
5. Subscriptions, pricing and payment
Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or yearly basis at the prices shown on our website at the time you subscribe. Current pricing is €9 per month or €99 per year and includes the mailbox allowance stated on the pricing page. All prices are in euros and, for consumers, include any applicable VAT unless stated otherwise.
Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your full card details. By subscribing you authorise us (via Stripe) to charge your chosen payment method for the recurring fee until you cancel.
Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period for a further period of the same length, at the then-current price, unless you cancel before the renewal date. We will give you reasonable notice of any price change before it takes effect; if you do not agree to the new price you may cancel before it applies.
6. Cancellation, refunds and right of withdrawal
You can cancel your subscription at any time from the billing section of your dashboard (managed through Stripe’s billing portal). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then, and you will not be charged again.
30-day money-back guarantee. As a voluntary commercial guarantee, if you are not satisfied you may request a full refund of your most recent payment within 30 days of that payment by emailing hello@lucidinbox.com. This is in addition to any rights you have under law.
Consumer right of withdrawal (EU). If you are a consumer in the European Union, you normally have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving a reason. Because the Service is supplied digitally and begins immediately, you expressly request that we start providing the Service during the withdrawal period and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the Service has been fully performed. Where the Service has only been partly performed, you remain entitled to a proportionate refund. Our 30-day money-back guarantee above is intended to be at least as favourable as these rights.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any applicable law or third-party rights;
- Connect a mailbox you are not authorised to access, or use the Service to process other people’s personal data without a lawful basis;
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to, disrupt, reverse-engineer or probe the Service or its underlying infrastructure;
- Use the Service to build a competing product, or resell it without our written permission;
- Introduce malware or place an unreasonable load on our systems.
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe these Terms are being breached, or where necessary to protect the Service, our users, or third parties.
8. Third-party services
The Service works alongside third-party providers, including your email provider (e.g. Microsoft), our AI provider (OpenAI), our payment provider (Stripe) and our hosting and infrastructure providers. Your use of those services remains subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, and changes they make may affect how the Service operates. You can withdraw the access you granted to LucidInbox at any time, either from within the Service or through your email provider’s security settings.
9. The AI and your responsibility
LucidInbox uses automated classification to move messages between folders. While the Service is designed to be conservative — leaving a message where it is when it is not confident, and protecting conversation threads and senders you mark as important — automated classification is not perfect and may occasionally move a message unexpectedly. The Service does not delete your email and every move is reversible.
You remain responsible for monitoring your own mail and for any decisions you make based on how it is organised. The Service is a productivity aid and must not be relied upon as the sole means of receiving time-critical, legal, medical, financial or safety-related communications.
10. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by Innovative Commerce B.V. or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. You retain all rights to your own content and data. You grant us only the limited rights needed to operate and provide the Service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
11. Availability and warranties
We work hard to keep the Service available and reliable, but we provide it on an “as is” and “as available” basis and do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that classification will always be accurate. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory statutory rights you have as a consumer.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, LucidInbox will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of data that we could not reasonably have prevented, or for any matter outside our reasonable control. Our total liability arising out of or in connection with the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in that period.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
13. Indemnity
If you use the Service in breach of these Terms or applicable law, you agree to be responsible for any reasonable, direct losses or claims that result, to the extent caused by that breach.
14. Data protection
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Dutch law.
15. Term and termination
These Terms apply for as long as you use the Service. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service (in which case we will give reasonable notice and, where you have pre-paid, a pro-rata refund for the unused period). On termination, your right to use the Service ends and we will delete or anonymise your data as set out in the Privacy Policy.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in the Service before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you may cancel and stop using the Service.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live.
Any disputes will be submitted to the competent court of the District of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, unless mandatory law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere. EU consumers may also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
